Hey man! No concerts to speak of - gonna have to live vicariously through those who have money (like you ;) Been in an electronica mood lately. I like latest album by Grouplove - pretty good for a modern band. Also of note, been enjoying Jeff Lynne-produced Tom Petty album Highway Companion. And looking forward to the NEW McCartney...

Hey man. I have not heard "New" or about the Wilson/Beck tour. Thanks for letting me know. I did read a small article about the new McCartney album. Hope you have great holiday weekend.

He was great! It was a laid back show. He did Red-Headed Stranger as a medley and must have been in a gospel mood bc he did alot of gospel songs. Truly a legend.

I agree with you on Chicago. Although i've not been to NYC, from what i know of it i would still favor Chicago.

Los Angeles - very cool. I've been there a few times. Didn't get to see alot of music sites except the Hard Rock. Would love to go in some of the famous studios there. I've been to Muscle Shoals many times; i have family there. Great scene happening there right now with the success of the Civil Wars & Alabama Shakes. I've been to the Motown studio in Detroit (forgive me if i've already told you). That would have to be in the top 5 of all music sites i've been to. You can just feel the vibes when you walk in the room.

I'm good. I love summer as well! Hope you Enjoy Brian & Al. LA = Louisiana or Los Angeles? I had mentioned New Orleans because i feel every American music lover should go. You would LOVE it. If they ever open the King Records studio in Cincinnati, i'd like to go see that.

Hey man! Good, thanks. Hope you are too. That's awesome about the library! I do that as well. It should be a civic responsibility that all libraries make great music available to the public. Getting off my soapbox now, I'm just checking out Carly. Had never really heard anything beyond the 5 hits. Got her 1st 5 albums for an awesome $12. And i love the overall 70s sound so i'm always looking for new songs for my playlist. So far Carly's a little too shallow and i like Carole King much better. Oh, & i think "You're so Vain" is Carly's self portrait. Sorry for rambling...

Hah! I love the sneaky Flaming Pie reference in your bio. I think we've argued in the past about whether Wings material should be considered their own or Paul solo, and about whether Denny Laine matters (Deliver Your Children, maaaan, Deliver Your Children) but you're shouting on all my last.fm buddies' pages so I ambled over and what can I say? You definitely seem like a cool fellow. Care to tell me how your musicmaking is going? I've been doing the amateur band thing for over two years now (only getting rolling now, really; sloooow start) and nowadays find myself endlessly interested in others who're trying to do the same.

I applaud being all over the map & listening to Willie. Classic country doesn't get enough respect on Lfm. I have been enjoying Louis very much :) And i didn't know about the new Lynne releases, but i do now - thanks to you!

Hey man. I see you dug out the Carole King :) I do enjoy jazz. Just really starting to explore it. I enjoy jazz pianists/trios best so far.

Hittin' The Note is excellent. For me, it's just as good as the Duane albums. Essential Allmans: The Epic Years is a good overview of the best of the 90's stuff.

I've got all 3 (well, most of Blind Faith). I love 461 Ocean Blvd. You should try out some of the 90's Allmans.

I love the Cream stuff (who doesn't?) I'm wanting to get more into his 70s albums. So who do you think is better - Butch or Jaimoe?

I agree. That's an excellent comparison. Even more amazing is FWM 1975 was their first time out as a band & Buckingham/Nicks only had one prior album!

Am in total agreement with you about McVie. And i would put Mic among the best of the straight-ahead, no-frills, rock-solid, tasteful ensemble playing drummers like Keltner & Ringo.

Happily :) I really like the 1st album with Peter Green. I would rank it in the top 10 of 60's British blues albums. I'm not really familiar with period post-Peter Green to Buckingham/NIcks era, but i love the song "Hypnotized". All the Buckingham/Nicks albums are gold for me. Rumours definitely deserves it's status, but i prefer Tusk because it is more daring & experimental. The Say You Will album is underrated. McVie's songs are missed but the rest of them turn in a great album. All in all, I like Buckingham's & McVie's songs best. I would never deny Stevie's talent, i just like the other two better. What about you? I know you're excited about the show.
